Doogee HomTom HT6 Review :
The Doogee Homtom HT6 is a reasonably priced phone, with a reasonably designed Android os, and a reasonably attractive design. Basically, if you’re looking for an affordable Smartphone with good, but not great, features then I highly recommend purchasing this phone. It has many flaws; however, it does have perks that many consumers can definitely gravitate to.before this we have reviewed the 4G Phablet Doogee F5.
Design & Display :
The Doogee Homtom HT6 has an array of advantages. For example, its design, while not too spectacular, is certainly worth liking. It isn’t an unappealing rectangular design, but it also isn’t entirely, beautifully sleek. It manages to settle into the middle of a curvy iPhone and a boxy Windows Phone. The curves are cut too short, just enough to give it a bit of a boxy feeling while also granting the eyes smooth curves. Also, the Doogee Homtom HT6 is sporting a 5.5’’ HD display which consists of durable Gorilla Glass. While colors don’t necessarily look vividly realistic, they do provide noteworthy depth and contrast to pictures. Additionally, the Gorilla Glass is scratch proof and wear resistant, and it makes actions quick and responsive. Actions such as the smart gestures it uses that soon prove to be quite functional.
Quality Features :
The most useful shortcuts include drawing “W” to turn on music and drawing down to turn on a video. The others (which include drawing an “E” to open the browser) are very much inefficient. Tapping on the browser is much more instinctive (and, in turn, faster) than drawing an “E”. Another advantage of this smartphone, is the Android 5.1 operating system it runs. Because of this, you get access to the Google Play Store (which has a limitless amount of capable, beneficial apps), a level of control to the settings of your device, and a reliable operating system. Another characteristic of this Smartphone is its amazingly fast 4G speeds (allowing for a 100Mbps download rate) along with its equally talented charging speeds (allowing for 75 percent battery in 30 minutes). The perks of the Doogee Homtom HT6 definitely appeal to consumers who aren’t too familiar with smartphones and wish to use such technology.
However, the It has its fair amount of flaws. Instantly, the design of the operating system greatly pales in comparison to more popular systems (such as iOS or Windows). To a user who is new to the world of smart technology, this will more likely be unapparent, but if you’re familiar with any of the more common operating systems, the system’s dual colors, unattractive layout, and boring icons are very much apparent. To be quite frank, the design of the os is purely horrendous.
Camera & other Additions :
Taking quality, clear photos with the Doogee Homtom HT6’s back 13 megapixel camera is definitely attainable; however, the same isn’t true about the front camera.
The 3 megapixel front camera doesn’t produce completely blurry, unclear photos, but it doesn’t hold a candle stick to the gorgeous Sony back camera. The Doogee Homtom, along with its unlovely design, allows you to take screenshots. Usually, this feature is well used, and applied, but in this case, one must require three fingers sliding down to take a screenshot. Screenshots, by definition, are meant to be quick and seamless, so the more actions that are needed to capture it, the longer it takes. This means that if there’s a frame (belonging to a video) that one wants to quickly take, they will indefinitely and probably miss it. It also has Hot Knot to transfer photos, video, and other media (in 54 Mbps.). It transfers media when two phones running HotKnot are placed near each other. The conflict that arises is that most phones consumers own don’t run HotKnot; they usually run more popular cloud programs such as iCloud, Google Drive, or OneDrive. As a result, HotKnot is reduced to a useless, ineffective program. Until, most of the consumers’ phones have HotKnot, it will rarely be able to function. It has flaws that will make or break many buyers’ purchasing of it.
Final Verdict & Conclusion :
Overall, it is a decently good Smartphone that almost anyone can afford for $139.99 ( Presale Price for Limited Time ) in a dark black shell, but what determines any buyer’s decision to buy it will depend upon their intent. If you want a highly functional Smartphone to use continuously for work, this is surely not the phone for you, but if you are a casual (or first time) Smartphone user, who simply wants a semi-capable device, this is absolutely the phone for you.
