Harman Kardon Onyx Studio Review :
With its super sleek design and striking sound quality, the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio is the latest entry in high-end Bluetooth speakers. The theme of this machine borders on spartan yet is still ahead of its time. Included with the speaker is just a power cable with power adapter and an instructional manual, making plug and play right out of the box a conceivable reality. Let’s get started with our detailed Harman Kardon Onyx Studio Review.
Design :
Its outer appearance is quite innocuous: a soft black rubberized disc that is 5 inches across its widest point and propped at an angle by two short metal legs. Clandestine buttons around the edge of the disc control power, volume and Bluetooth, and two ports (power and Micro-USB) are nestled at the back of the speaker.
The inside is where it gets interesting. 15 watts of power are going to each of the two 3 inch woofers and the two-inch tweeters. A frequency response of 60Hz to 20kHz is helped with the inclusion of dual passive radiators. This thing is not for those who set the Bass to low. The rumble of the low end will creep up on you and swallow you whole. For a one-piece machine, this small speaker certainly gives off big sound.

Quality Features :
Advanced Bluetooth V3.0 technology means you can connect it to whatever Bluetooth-compatible tech you have: PC, tablet, iPod, smartphone, and even your PSP. There’s no fussy wires to deal with as there is no physical connection jack for audio. Aside from the power cord, the Harman Kardon is wireless. Its weight is a slightly bulky 4 pounds but a convenient hand grip molded into the back does what it can to mitigate the load.
Battery Life :
Most criticisms of the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio are about its battery life. The 2600 mAh lithium battery only manages to churn out 5 hours of unplugged usage at most, with some reviewers complaining that play time was as low as half an hour. Such a lackluster battery coupled with its hefty weight, this isn’t the best option to just toss into your car and tote it to camping trips and such. This speaker would be better suited for indoor use where it finds a relatively permanent home on a desk or end table close to an outlet. The regular price tag of $200-400 is also a bit of a shock, but clearance deals can be often found online on sites such as Amazon.
