Lenovo ZUK Z1 Review :
Lenovo teamed up with ZUK to design and manufacture the Z1. The end product is the Lenovo ZUK Z1, which is a mid-range smartphone with high-end specifications and a reasonable price tag. On paper, this particular smartphone features great hardware and useful software, but there’s no such thing as a perfect smartphone. Check out this Lenovo ZUK Z1 Review!
Hardware and Performance :
With a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, the ZUK Z1 is a hefty device. It features a Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Some might find it a bit disappointing to see the older 801 here, but the processor handles most tasks in stride. Also, a fingerprint scanner is built into the home button and a 13 MP rear-facing camera. USB Type-C comes standard, too.

Although the ZUK Z1 doesn’t perform as well as today’s flagships, the device can still tackle most tasks without slowdowns. 3GB of RAM helps make multitasking a breeze. Its screen is bright and easy to view from all angles. Plus, the fingerprint sensor adds a layer of security, and Type-C helps future proof this device. Lack of expandable storage and a removable battery won’t please all users, though.
Software :
Cyanogen OS 12.1 is included by default, and the operating system is based upon Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Compared to stock Android, Cyanogen features extra customization options and privacy settings. The operating system runs smoothly despite these extra features, and many users will appreciate customizable themes. All of the standard Google apps are available in Cyanogen.

Build Quality and Design :
In simple terms, the ZUK Z1 isn’t an exciting smartphone by appearance. A metal frame surrounding the plastic device helps set it apart from other mid-range smartphones. Boring doesn’t make for a bad smartphone, but many people will pass on this one because it blends into the pack of other smartphones. Thanks to the metal frame, though, build quality is solid, and the device feels sturdy.
Once again, Lenovo and ZUK have packed a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C plug into this smartphone.

Battery Life and Camera :
The ZUK Z1 features an incredibly large 4,100 mAh battery that’s larger than most smartphones sold today. Therefore, users won’t struggle to achieve 1-2 days’ worth of battery life. Most smartphones require charging every 6-10 hours, but the ZUK Z1 shines in battery life and runs marathons around other devices.

For the cameras, users will find a 13 MP rear-facing camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. The main shooter takes great photos in bright light outdoors, but indoor image quality suffers comparatively. Professional photography isn’t possible with the Z1, and that’s true of most smartphones. Still, the Z1 manages to take above average photos in most situations, and that’s a victory here.
The Verdict: A Solid Smartphone With A Lot To Love and Little To Hate
With a competitive price tag and high-end specs, the Lenovo ZUK Z1 is a fantastic smartphone. Our Lenovo ZUK Z1 Review found a lot to like and very little to criticize. The smartphone isn’t a beauty pageant winner, and users won’t have the most advanced hardware at their disposal. In the end, the ZUK Z1 benefits from strong performance and unparalleled battery life. Extra features like the fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C help sweeten the package as does an above average camera.
