OnePlus Two Review :
Aptly marketed as the “Flagship killer” of 2016, the OnePlus 2 is a clear statement that high-end does not have to cost a fortune. With top-tier specifications and a premium build, this is a phone that competes with high-end models from the likes of Samsung and HTC. But at the same time, managing to do so at half the price of its competitors. But, there is one catch – you need an invite to buy the phone. For those who manage to get their hands on one, though, this is a high-end device at half the cost. As we all know , OnePlus never disappoints as we earlier reviewed OnePlus X Review and found it to be another good smartphone to choose. Let’s see what this one has in the bucket to make us excited in the complete OnePlus Two Review.
Design and Display
The first device from OnePlus focused on value. This time, the company is determined to make itself known as a premium manufacturer – and did so with aplomb. The phone has a gorgeous metal band wrapping around its edges, making it a pleasure to hold. On the back, though, is a roughly textured outer layer, which makes it easier to grip but at the tradeoff of comfort and the premium feel. Build quality is excellent and premium-looking, while staying practical.
In the hands, the device feels solid and weighty, with its aluminium-magnesium alloy frame. The display is protected by the usual Gorilla Glass found on most smartphones of today. For daily use, this device is durable enough to survive most drops from pockets, and avoid the bending phenomenon that plagues many high-end devices.

We all know that, when it comes to Display, OnePlus won’t disappoint us and always makes us excited about the phone, and this time too they have proved that they can beat the competition and maybe the likes of an Apple iPhone too. Let’s see what this one has brought to us. On the front an excellent, 5.5-inch full HD display. This produces a crystal clear density of 401-ppi, placing it on par with the iPhone 6s. The picture, while understated next to the bright and punchy colors of Samsung’s AMOLED, is colorful and accurate. Brightness levels are excellent as well, although it doesn’t quite live up to its promised 600-nits. Overall, using the device for media consumption is a pleasant and satisfying experience, and does not feel lacking in any way.
Performance and Features
On paper, the OnePlus Two offers tremendous value. Looking at the specs sheet, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 810 with all 8 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, with the accompanying Adreno 430 doing the rendering. Together with the 4 GB of RAM the device is a true heavy-lifter, blazing through loading screens and serving up your content in a breeze. Specs like these are what OnePlus has always been about – giving top of the line components at a bargain.
So how does the features complement its chart-topping specs? In a word, wonderfully. It features a fingerprint sensor which works seamlessly. For those new to the scanning trend, fingerprint scanning is indeed a great improvement over the usual keycodes as it makes it that much faster to log into the phone. However, the fingerprint sensor in here is not quite on par with Samsung’s and has much ground to cover with Apple’s Touch ID. It loses its responsiveness over time and is rather inconsistent in its pickup. It does not scan as quickly also, which can be a slight annoyance.

Physically, the OnePlus Two features a USB type-C jack, which increases data transfer rates by quite a bit compared to micro-USB. The new jack is also excellent in use since it is perfectly symmetrical, meaning you can plug the cable in faced up or down. Yes, the old days of trial-and-error plugging are gone for good. For this phone, at least, since this is the first phone to offer the technology. This means that you will need the cable to charge your phone in public charging spots since type-C is not backwards compatible.
Camera and Battery
The camera is fantastic for its price, with a rear 13 MP sensor and OIS. Color accuracy is good, but still falling short of Samsung’s brilliant sensor. For landscape and lifestyle shots, the camera does its job beautifully by serving up a well-rounded palette. The camera does however struggle a bit in low-light scenarios, serving up washed out colors occasionally and with some blurring. For the price, though, this is near unbeatable.

Providing energy to the powerful innards is a 3300 mAh LiPo Battery, which is sufficient for a regular day’s use. While the capacity is larger than in the Note 5 or S 6, it lags quite far behind due to its poorer optimisation and power-hogging CPU. With typical use, the device lasted around 6.5 hours, placing it near the iPhone 6s. For gaming, the battery life will be ruthlessly shortened, due to the Snapdragon CPU’s deficiencies. Still, the average user who do not demand all-day screen on will be very satisfied with its battery life, especially at this price.
