TW64 Pro Review :
TW64 Pro looks like a promising fitness tracker. It is a little rubber fitness tracker, with a small, OLED display, 55 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, and is also waterproof. It tracks your heart rate, monitors your sleep, phone call reminder, it can find your phone, and is a remote camera. It also has “Sports Tracking” which essentially just tracks things like calories burned, steps, and that sort of stuff. Looks pretty good right? But the real question is does it actually do all that well?
Design & Display :
The design is very similar to a Fitbit Charge HR, being just a small, lightweight device made of rubber for durability, and comes in Deep Blue, Blue, Orange, Purple and Black. It has a small clasp to keep on your wrist, and overall it is just a simple, clean design. The display is a bit of a disappointment, being that it has massive bezels around the display, and that it just does not get very bright… at all. Using this on a run in broad daylight just wasn’t a very good experience.
Performance & Features :
OK, so maybe if the screen isn’t very good, can the features make up for it ? No, it can’t. Barely any of this stuff works. I slept for 8 hours, but somehow I must be wrong, because I slept for 14 hours. What ? And don’t even get me started on the “Sports tracking” I went on a 6-mile run that I know for a fact is 6 miles, but I guess I am wrong about the distance of a route I have been running for 3 years. Turns out, it is actually a 4-mile route. Newsflash, it isn’t. And running apparently doesn’t burn as many calories that I thought. This thing thinks I burned 77 calories.
And running apparently doesn’t burn as many calories that I thought. This thing thinks I burned 77 calories. Well that can’t be right. And that waterproofing, well it isn’t. Fortunately I jumped in a pool after I finished my notes on the device, and it died. Nice try. Well with that Bluetooth 4.0 must be used for something, right. Well the TW64 has a companion app for both Android and IOS, but I bet you can guess what the story with that is.
Battery :
Well this so far is not really looking too good for the TW64 Pro. Can its battery save it? Well 55 mAh is just not enough. This thing is advertised to run for 7 days. Well I couldn’t get much more than 1 day! Last time I checked 1 does not equal 7. Why can’t they just double the current capacity? It’s not like a 110 mAh cell will take that much more space than a 55 mAh. Again, another failure for this thing.
Final Verdict & Conclusion :
So this is an epic fail, right? It just doesn’t do anything it is advertised to do. The “Sports Tracking” is absolute garbage, the display is tiny and dark, and the battery doesn’t live up to the advertised length. And worst of all, it dies on contact with water. Now it does only cost around $30, but if you really want something that will work, go invest in something that actually works, like a Fitbit or a Jawbone. Save your money, this thing is a piece of trash. And clearly everyone who bought it agrees with me.
