Radeon RX 460 And 470 – The Latest in the World of Graphics Card
Unlike the computers of yesteryears, people in these modern times use their machines for various types of requirements. Some use their computers to play high end games, some prefer to watch movies most of the times, whereas, some use it for editing videos. Whatever be the need, if you wish to make the most out of your machine, you need a good quality graphics card in your desktop or laptop.
What Is A Graphics Card?
A graphics card is basically a small set of computer chips no bigger than an index card. This card is fixed on the circuit board of your laptop or desktop. The primary job of the chip is to collect all the video data from the processor and convert it into specific signals for the monitor of the machine. You are definitely correct when you say that modern age computers already have graphics card pre-installed in them. However, these are capable enough to perform just the basic functions. If you are a gamer or a graphic designer or even a multimedia enthusiast, then you will certainly want a high end graphics card.
AMD Radeon RX 460
AMD, one of the leaders in graphic card, is all set to release Radeon RX 460 on the 8th of August this year, which is one of the latest entries into the world of graphic cards. This card draws all its power from the motherboard of your computer. It does not require any additional 8-pin or even 6-pin power connectors. The Radeon RX 460 card is at par with the NVidia’s highly reputed GTX 750Ti card. Since the GTX 750Ti is quite old, it is expected that the RX 460 will easily outperform the NVidia product. As compared to the older Radeon R7 260X, the latest RX 460 has been tested to deliver almost 1.2x to 1.3x faster and better performance. However, this is almost similar to the NVidia GTX 750 Ti.
AMD Radeon RX 470
AMD just released the Radeon RX 470 graphic card ahead of the RX 460 card. It is also designed to provide one of the best gaming experience to any gamer at 1080p. The company has stated that the RX 470 card has been tested to hit almost over 60 frames per second. This makes the card to work with some of the high end games such as Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and Witcher 3. The test was done on a computer which had 16GB RAM and was running on Core i7-5960X. The clock speed of the RX 470 is also quite impressive at 1206MHz on a machine which had 4 GB GDDR5 memory.
With the introduction of Radeon RX 460 and 47, AMD is all set to take on the gaming world with a bang. These 2 graphic cards will be at par with some of the highly popular and powerful cards from the house of NVidia. It is just a matter of time when the rest of the companies follow suit.
