NEXBOX A95X Review : Android and Smart TVs are getting quite popular in the last few years. There are many advantages that they offer, like accessing the internet directly from the television, and by that I mean famous social media websites like Facebook, or simply stream some videos from YouTube.
Just a few years ago, they were quite expensive, and not so much affordable, and now? Well, if you carefully search you can find some of them for a hundred dollars which is not that expensive if we have in mind that they are SMART televisions. However, there is a way of turning your ordinary TV or Monitor (LED, LCD…) into a smart device, did you know that?
It is being done by TV Android Boxes. Having that in mind, let us focus on our quick NEXBOX A95X TV Box review. It’s a budget TV Android Box and the manufacturer NEXBOX is not so popular around the world, so do not expect too much from this product.
But first, let us see what does transforming your ordinary TV or Monitor means. Well, it is like making a Smart TV out of it, which is then like a media centre connected to the WiFi. Combining the TV with an internet, it should produce a satisfying and computer-like experience.
Performance :
Contents
It boasts an Amlogic S905 chipset with a quad-core Cortex A53 clocked at 2 GHz, 64 bit. As I have seen it, it really is enough for this hardware, but the clocking could be a little higher. This product also supports 4K resolution, thanks to Penta Core Mali-450MP GPU.
Features :
We know from Android smartphones that Mali-300 for example was not a great GPU when it comes to gaming, but here it manages to stream 4K videos in 30 fps which is more than enough for me. Equipped with the Android 5.1 operating system, which isn’t the newest, it still a very good bang for the bucks. There is 1 GB DDR3 RAM, and here is where they could have added at least one more GB of RAM, but considering this is a budget TV Box, it’s okay with me. Last, but not least is 8 GB of ROM. This is where the weakness of this TV Box is. If we take into an account that OS takes almost 4 GB of Storage space, we are left with just 4 GB of ROM, which is not enough by any means.
Media Support :
Important to mention is that there is a support for mouse and keyboard via USB port, and this TV Box also supports many video and image formats, and we’ll count some of them. H.264, H.265, HD AVC, Xvid, Mkv, Avi, Flv and many more. Supported image formats are JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and BMP. What I like about sound support, is that it supports FLAC, and almost any sound format out there you can think of.
Final Verdict :
This leads us to conclusion. This is a very good TV Box for the money, but the lack of ROM here may be a problem. It needed at least 16 GB. Also, manufacturer could’ve added another 1 GB of RAM. But aside of that, this is a great budget TV box for not-so-demanding users. Check out the Pricing section for best place to buy.
Price & Best Place To Buy :
As far as the pricing is concerned, you can find it on various E-Commerce Portals. it is very affordable if you are considering the Android TV Box with very good processor as well.
