The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite phone is based on Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Pro phone which was launched in June, 2018. They share similar specifications and a similar design, but they don’t share the same type of software, with the Google’s Android One replacing the Xiaomi’s MIUI type of user interface.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 4G phone comes with a 5.84-inch screen display, is powered by a 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip, and has an internal storage that varies from 64 GB to 32 GB. It weighs at 178 grams and measures at 8.8 mm in thickness. It has a plastic body with nice dual antenna lines which add beauty to its’ rear. There is also a fingerprint scanner which allows for quick access. It is available in red, blue, black, gold and rose gold colors.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has a notch on top of its’ screen and features a 5.84-inch FHD+ display screen. It has a screen resolution of 2280 by 1080 pixels, with a 19:9 ratio. It has a dual camera setup which consists of 12 megapixels and 5 megapixels. Selfies are covered by the 5 MP camera which also has a LED flash.
Camera – another smartphone being marketed as AI-powered
As aforementioned, its features dual AI-powered 12 megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. The main 12-megapixel camera has f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, while the selfie 5 MP camera has f/2.2 aperture, and acts as a depth sensor. It also has a gyro EIS, LED flash, smile/face detection, touch focus, Panorama and HDR.
Performance
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip which was built on 14nm process technology. This type of processor is well known for its great performance. It features an octa-core processor that clocks at 2GHz and handles graphics using an Adreno 506 graphics processor.
Storage
It comes with a 3GB/4GB RAM space which is enough for multitasking, and the storage space can vary from 32GB or 64GB respectively. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite phone can also accommodate up to about 256GB via its’ dedictated microSD slot.
Connectivity and Sensors
It’s connectivity options include; GPS, Wi Fi, Infrared, Bluetooth and USB OTG. the sensors on this phone include; Accelerometers, proximity sensor, compass or magnetometer, gyroscope and an Ambient light sensor.
Battery
The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo which is powered by a large, non-removable li-poly battery that can accommodate about 4000mAh. The phone can charge from 0% to 100% in less than 2 hours as company claims but we highly doubt this and haven’t been able to test the charging time as of now.

- It’s available in several different colors including; blue, red, black and gold.
Cons
- It doesn’t have USB Type C port.
- It has fewer customization options since it runs on the Stock Android. of course, you can play with the custom ROMs in future.
